Soup in Heaven
I think I died and went to heaven, discovering this amazing food blog when it's writer, Susan, left a comment on my previous post. The abundance of recipes (check out the impressive right-hand column!), even more inspiration for cooking with organics and locally sourced foods, and her brief profile piece transported me to a land of plenty and possibility. This is one blog that I'm definitely adding to my daily blogging route. Mmmm, mmm. Enjoy!

Dress Me Up joins Hailey for Haiti!
Update! In just few short days folks rallied together and raised $9,700 for Doctors Without Borders. That's almost TEN GRAND, PEOPLE! It was an honour to contribute in just a little way to the raffle (even I bought tickets too!). Congratulations to Julie and Stephanie, the winners. Details are here on Bamboletta's site.
Over the past 48 hours, Christina and her many, many, MANY Bamboletta fans and followers have raised over $5550 for Haitian emergency relief. This is incredible. There are now two prizes up for the raffle tickets - two dolls, Hailey and Holly, each with a number of accessories by some of Christina's team. The prize sets are darling and amazing and generous! And when Christina emailed me last night to ask if I'd like to be part of the movement, I was eager to jump on board!
I'm donating one Recycled Knotty Cap and one Organic Leaf Bib for each doll set. The hat and bib look so cute on the Bambolettas - but also fit newborn humans! Helping the folks in Haiti secure medical attention and having the chance to win one of two absolutely delightful gift sets - ah, it just feels good. Good luck, everyone!

Hailey for Haiti
Now, Christina of Bamboletta has always been an incredibly generous person. I mentioned her in my new year's post as one of my favourite inspirations - and she's just gone and rocked the world with her generosity AGAIN.
Christina is raffling off a beautiful Bamboletta Doll named "Hailey", with accessories and clothing from Reggies Dolls and Silly Con. Tickets are only $10, and you can buy multiple tickets (each ticket counts as an entry), and all the money is going to Doctors Without Borders. Oh, yeah - and because Bamboletta is a Canadian company, the Canadian government is matching the final donation.

Ch-ch-changes
I’m excited to share this picture with you – a quick snapshot of the Organic Cloth Balls made from my new fabric line! The new fabric is digitally printed (rather than hand screen printed as on the ball shown in the bottom right corner), onto GOTS certified organic cotton in the USA. Bright and bold, I love with how dynamic and playful my new prints are, and how they cozy up beside my natural organic cottons so well. The images on the new fabric are mine, of course – hand drawn and one of a kind! Toys with the new fabric will soon be posted in my shop… but if you’re itchin’ to get your hands on one right now, just send me an email and I’ll do up an order. The hand printed cloth balls will continue to be available until sold out. Mmmm, change is good!

Oh, hello!
It’s hard to get blogging again. I got a kick-start by catching up on my favourite blogs. I find such inspiration in these places, I thought you might as well.
I love dropping into Bamboletta. Christina writes the most real and warm posts, and I love to see how well she is doing, and read all the comments from her many, many fans. I live a little vicariously through Christina too, how I’d love to have the knowledge and patience to make such beautiful companions! Thankfully, Christina has it mastered and I can just drool and order from her.
SouleMama keeps me grounded. Every time I visit Amanda’s blog, I find myself challenged and inspired and encouraged. Challenged to be just that much more for my daughter, inspired by Amanda’s own craft and community of readers, and encouraged to keep on creating and connecting. Amanda is back at it, and so am I!
Yukari is a new friend, one of my best customers and endless source of support and cheering. I love her resolutions this year, and am calling them my own too. I spend so much time at home, alone, working that I forget about the community of light-minded crafters and designers in my own community. Must. Leave. Studio. More. Often.
Then there's Dooce. Heather kicks my butt every time I read her blog. I laugh, I weep, I blush – at times I'm even shocked or think woah – I am SO different from this woman. But I love her. I love Heather Armstrong. She is fearless and honest. This December I was thrilled, absolutely THRILLED to have my darling little Rabbit Rattles featured in Dooce's Holiday Gifts for Infants guide. THRILLED!
Tonight I go to my first pre-natal yoga class at this beautiful studio very close to my neighbourhood. I’m excited to be stretching and moving, connecting more with the little being growing in my belly. Baby number two is due in June, only 5 months away now. WOAH.
I was introduced to Rhythm of the Home by SouleMama, and am ever so thankful to have found it, and for the women who are creating this online publication. It is amazing. My resolution for this wintery new year season is to knit this beautiful newborn cocoon. I’ve never really knit before – really knitted, like, follow a pattern and properly choose yarns and needles and understand what I’m doing. Like yoga, I imagine this to be a spiritual practice of anticipation and patience – with myself, for this new year full of new beginnings. Wish me luck!

PS. What’s looking forward without a little looking back (or is this just crazy, long range planning!)? I enjoy Little Pinwheel immensely, and was smitten by their Craft Christmas Wreath. We are SO making this next year.
